seeing other people's reactions when I tell them I have cancer.

I had spots that looked like bruises on my skin and my left sinus was completely clogged. I had none of the traditional symptoms of leukemia.

I have 6 months of chemo:
1. Daunorubicin, Vincristine, Asparaginase, Prednisone
2. Cytarabine, Etoposide
3. Methotrexate
months 4, 5, and 6 are a repeat of months 1, 2, and 3. I also had 6 doses of intrathecal methotrexate (chemo injected into my spine).

Feelin' GroovyViews: 4010

I am home again and feeling VERY well. I have no headaches, my appetite is pretty much back (so much for those 20 lbs I lost last month!), and my energy level is getting better by the day. Sadly I am losing more hair, but its better than mouth sores FOR SURE. I am so thankful that this round has been mild after last month’s ordeal. Since I will have this same round of chemo in December I am particularly happy because it means I will be feeling well for the holidays and it will hopefully mean a quicker return to work and normal life. I am crossing my fingers that the doc will give the thumbs up on holiday travel, or at least January. I want to get at least one vacation in before I have to go back to work! After the past 6 months I think I deserve it. My next treatment does not start until the beginning of October and is a repeat of the first round so we know what to expect. I was feeling very well in July despite a few stomach cramps so I should be good for 6 weeks or so. I am hoping to get out of the house, see some friends, watch football (go vikes), go out to eat, and just generally be in the world. I’ve missed it.
Peace, love, and wellness

oh good. You can give me some fantasy football tips. Maybe I will make us some hummous and we can watch football all day on sunday… I need to study up so I can ensure league domination.

Hey Josi,

So glad to here things are going well with your chemo and you are able to make plans for the holidays! Thinking of you and wishing you well!

Love,

Rachel

Go Vikes! I am from Minnesota too. Glad you are feeling better.

Hey sexy. im so happy you might visit me. and I can’t wait to see you! I’ve already decided: your’re going to teach me how to drive a stick shift. i really hope i dont ruin the AWESOME muscle car. dude school sucks. you are my major hw break right now. not really, I”m just making time for my FAVORITE person in the world!

So glad you’re back at it and getting a bit of the world’s fall fresh air. Know you’re enjoying all of the friends and family coming in and out of your life. Looking back that might just be one of the blessings of this period. Hold onto the good and know you have a lot more praying for you from afar. Hoping to see you once we’re in SB…maybe down there. Lots of love, Mary Lynn
ps. If this works I’ve finally learned to use the blog.!

Back in December of 2006 I was diagnosed with stage III Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. I took time off from my job while I was getting slammed with ABVD chemo. During that time, I looked around for some rude and crude cancer humor shirts and just could not find any I liked.

I decided to start my own online t-shirt shop.

You don’t have to buy, but please spread the word.

Thanks,
Ryan
