seeing other people's reactions when I tell them I have cancer.

I had spots that looked like bruises on my skin and my left sinus was completely clogged. I had none of the traditional symptoms of leukemia.

I have 6 months of chemo:
1. Daunorubicin, Vincristine, Asparaginase, Prednisone
2. Cytarabine, Etoposide
3. Methotrexate
months 4, 5, and 6 are a repeat of months 1, 2, and 3. I also had 6 doses of intrathecal methotrexate (chemo injected into my spine).

the big dayViews: 1604

well, it has finally arrived. the day i get to find out what the hell is going to happen to me in the next few weeks, the day i get to start actually doing something to get better. i’m still in good spirits and looking forward to some answers (like all good attorneys). i will be at sutter general hospital in sacramento located at 28th and L streets. many of you have been wondering. i know you have all been wondering what you can do for me. my aunt has started a list of funny movies, each person has sent around 3-5 titles of the funniest movies they have seen. Dan Porras has been sending me the funniest emails involving me slaying the giant leukemia squid. with his permission i am hoping to post some here because they are hilarious. if you want you can burn me some cd’s with songs you like or send me the titles of the best books you have read. i’m gonna have a lot of down time.
anyway, keep posting here. i love to hear from you guys!
peace and love
Josi

Josi,
Everyone here in Helena noted your vivacity and talent as well as your strength and spirit. You met with people no easily empressed who still ask about you. Please know that we are all sending our very best thoughts to you.
Donna

Hey Josi I am glad you have set this up so we have some way of contacting you. Be strong my family and I are praying for you.

yo. Another package is on its way tomorrow, lots of material contained in the box to talk up you know who’s presidential campaign. Spread the message sister.

P.S., Joanna, your campaign skills are leaving a little something to be desired. Spreading the word about “you know who” might not be the best way to get “the word” out :-)

You go girl! Hug Sherri

Hey, Josi! We’re gonna miss you on the softball diamond this summer, but I have no doubts we’ll be seeing you manning first base again next year! All my prayers are with you and your family as you get yourself healthy. Good luck and good health!

Well Josi, this is not exactly a funny story but guess who had witness issues again today? This time it was an officer from Elk Grove. He actually told me he would not come today even though we talked last week and I told him to be here today and he was subed. Needless to say this incident has led to a reworking of the way EG gets subed. I did manage to get a contiuance until tomorrow so as least my case wasn’t dismissed. Love you and thinking of you!

hey josi,

i’m sending crazy amounts of positive energy your way so you can kick stupid cancer’s ass. i think it works. my dad has CLL and has been in remission for a year and counting, so i’ll send you some of the same stuff I send him. it’s potent. :)

Josi,

You are a stud. I’m still telling people the story of how you ruined a certain word for me and getting a ton of mileage out of it. I don’t know if “grateful” is the word I’d use, but it definitely makes you unique!

I’ve got a “mix tape” I can give you. I love it, but most folks tell me it just shows my age. U2, Cracker, INXS, The Cure, Queen, The Cult, Erasure, you get the picture. I’ll bring it in and give it to Lauren. Then you can listen to it, and laugh, and say, “You’re right, Chuck, this stuff went out of style with parachute pants!” It’s okay, I won’t be offended. I had a pair, and frankly, they looked good on me.

Be well!
Chuck G.
